  • Pack Containing Bird Food, Feeder and Nesting Box
  • Free To Hucknall Residents
  • Limit Of One Per Household

You may have noticed that the cheeky chappie, the house sparrow, has not been visiting your bird feeder quite as often recently.

Did you know that they are on the RSPB’s Red List (a species of high conservation concern) with populations in English urban areas faring the worst ?

Hucknall Wildlife Group want to try and encourage them back to our town so we can enjoy watching them taking baths in dust and water while noisily chirping along.

You can help by taking part in our House Sparrow Project.

We will provide you with a pack comprising of bird food, a feeder (made with the help of local schools and community groups) and a nest box. These packs are completely free to Hucknall residents and are limited to one per household.

All we are asking in return that you keep a weekly record of the birds visiting your feeder and let us know if your nest box is used.

Please Note

Please allow a couple of weeks from placing your order to when we contact you to confirm that your pack is ready to collect from Keycraft Garden Buildings in Hucknall. This allows us to build the required number of boxes and feeders.

We regret that delivery is not available for these packs, and we are unable to fit the nesting boxes.

These packs are for use on your own property and should not be installed on public land.

The design, shape and size of the nesting boxes and feeders will vary.

These are kindly being made by volunteers, schools and local community groups.
