DESCRIPTION:Join us for an unguided walk around The Ranges in Hucknall as we see what wildlife is about during our dusk walk. \nIf you don’t know a Robin from a Black Cap\, don’t worry we will have enthusiasts on hand that will be able to help identify your sightings. \nStarting at 4:00pm\, this walk will last until just after dark in case there are any bats flying about that we can identify. \nMeet at the end of Coronation Road / Broxtowe Drive around 3:50pm. \nThis event is open to everybody. You do not have to be a member to join us.

SUMMARY:CPRE Star Count Event
DESCRIPTION:Animals and plants rely on the Earths cycle of light and dark to govern their natural behaviours such as sleep\, reproduction\, feeding and protection from natural predators. An increase in artificial light at night can have a devastating effect\, especially to nocturnal animals. \nThe Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) organises an annual star count event to monitor the change of light pollution in the UK. \nBy taking part in this survey\, you will be providing information to the CPRE to track light pollution across the country. \nYou don’t need any special equipment such as telescopes or cameras\, you just need to count the number of stars you see in the Orion Constellation (the one with 3 stars close together in a line) and report your findings on the CPRE website. \nIt would be great if all our members\, facebook followers and friends could take part in this event. \nMore information can be found on the CPRE website\, and you can sign up for Star Count 2023 here.

DESCRIPTION:We would like to say a big thank you to Midlands Mutts Dog Training for arranging this event. \nTheir next dog neutrality / co-existence event will be held on the 14th August to help raise funds for our group. \nThe walk is designed to help introduce your dog into being in the company of other dogs. \nStart time is 09:00 at the end of Whyburn Lane Hucknall (reservoir end). \nTo help nervous dogs at ease\, this will be a short lead only event. \nTo help raise funds for the Hucknall Wildlife Group\, a donation of £3.00 per dog / human would be very much appreciated. \nPlease be aware that there may be a human wanting to take photos of your dog at this event for publishing on facebook and this website.
